Aviva Stadium is long synonymous with the Irish International Rugby Team, but over the past two decades it has also become the home of Irish Soccer. The oldest international rugby ground in the world, it has seen many developments over the past 130 years.
In May 2010, Lansdowne Road International Rugby Aviva Stadium reopened after it's redevelopment into a new 50,000 capacity all-seater venue as a joint venture between the FAI and the IRFU. The 50,000 compared with the existing Lansdowne Road Aviva Stadium which has an all seated capacity, as required for competitive Soccer, of 36,000 and a mixed standing and seated capacity of 49,000 for Rugby.
